Welding and fabrication trade

After successful completion of this course the students will acquire the knowledge about

1. Procedures, processes, equipment and terminology employed in welding along with related fields. Welding equipment and industrial safety will be known also.
2. Basic knowledge and hands-on experience to perform basic arc welding and gas cutting operations.
3. Practical applications of stick electrode welding.
4. Practical application of 2-G and 5-G pipe welding.
5. Set-up, maintenance and operation of TIG plus MIG welding equipment.
6. Application of stick electrode welding with E6010, E7018 and E7024 electrodes.
7. The types of drawings: drawing reproduction, welding and construction symbols and workbook exercises.
8. The introductory theory and practical applications of structural plate welding, welding safety hand held torch cutting operations and equipment set up.
9. Set up, maintenance and operation of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding equipment safely.
10. Skills to weld structural joints and bend tests is all positions utilizing mild steel plate using visual and destructive testing methods to determine weld quality.
11. General layout and fabrication techniques as related to structural welding.
12. The construction of small projects to tolerances using drawings/blueprints. A variety of welding processes will be used in the vertical up and over head positions only.
13. The methods of metal production, metal properties, and properly choosing of materials to construct metal fabrication products.
14. 2-G and 5-G positions utilizing both the shielded metal arc welding and TIG welding processes.
15. The pipe welding techniques in the 6-G position using both TIG and SMAW welding processes.
16. The methods of metal production. Metal properties. Crystal structure, heat treatment of metal and special welding applications.

Refrigeration And Air Conditioning Trade

After successful completion of the course the students will acquire the knowledge about

4. The knowledge on soldering techniques (single core and multi-core).
5. V.C.P. and V.C.R. installation and servicing.
6. CD player servicing.
7. Video camera servicing (Operating and maintaining).
8. Black and White TV installation and servicing.
9. Color TV installation and servicing.
10. Assembling one-band radio receiver.

Plumbing and Pipe Fittings

1. This course will provide the students technological knowledge & support so that they can analyze job problems, determine appropriate solution and perform problem solving tasks. Develop broad technological skill in “Plumbing & Pipe Fittings” job to be done according to plan & specification.
2. To be able to express and recognize the faults and defects of works and conform to the requirement of safety rules & procedure regarding plumbing works.
